Profit and loss for Global Crucibles Business.Dual reporting to General Manager,Japan and VP,Global Quartz
Business Unit.Direct reports include Oguni/Nagasaki production,Oguni engineer and technical service,
Geesthacht production and Crucibles Marketing and Product Management.
【Job Responsibilities】
・Manage global crucibles P&L for top-line growth and optimized profit.
・Establish and manage annual operating plan that includes product mix,volume,pricing as well as production requirements for human resources and capital to deliver against the plan.Create and manage expense budgets.Manage compensation arrangements as integral part of the business model.
・Define 5-year business plan including manufacturing and technology capital requirements to deliver on top-line sales objectives.Define and implement with regional GM’s,Manufacturing and R&D,manufacturing-and technology-capital requirements to deliver on business plan.
・Determine footprint plan and production mix among Oguni,Geesthacht and China tolling (with Wuxi coating)to deliver on top line and EBITDA objectives.
・Coordinate with Global Sand Product Manager to determine role of Nagasaki in global sand supply.Target initial production for Oguni with expansion to Geesthacht and Wuxi.Define demand balance among all sand sources (India ore,Sumitomo ore and sand,Mitsubishi synthetic and Sibleco)to ensure consistency of quality and continuity of supply.Work with Global and Japan-based procurement to ensure contractual commitment of sand and ore supply from all sources.
・Establish with GM’s and US/EU Sales account strategies including mix (diameter and technology),price and production allocation to optimize production asset utilization,efficiency/yield,quality,and profit.
・Define new products with a sustainable competitive advantage to meet identified market and customer needs.Could be spec upgrade or other modifications of existing products.Establish/finalize product targets based on industry and customer feedback.Coordinate with Quartz R&D and prioritize crucible projects within allocated resource pool.
・Establish alliance policies related to product lines (e.g.,joint development programs,tool vendor relationships,raw-material suppliers,etc.).Develop and manage third-party (e.g.,OEM’s,suppliers,etc.)relationships necessary to deliver on business objectives.Build and develop external deal opportunities to enhance our mission.
・Active performance management of employees including Goals and Objectives (results oriented and with clear metrics to measure success).Minimum of biannual performance reviews against agreed upon objectives.Create career development plans for all employees.

【Education and Experience】
・Advanced degree in Business Administration or relevant technical fields in business
・management preferred.Additional experiences desired include:operations management,production
